"Empathy is the most radical of human emotions."  Gloria Steinem

Last night we were asked to reflect on friendship and in particular the friendships that while we are PVs, both in the PV community and the local community.  After everyone shared it was evident that a very special bond is formed as PVs, a bond that lasts far beyond our time of service.

Today was another hot day in Wyoming County.  The temperatures officially reached 96, but at both of our home repair sites (the same two from yesterday) it had to be pushing 100 degrees.  Since it was so hot and it has been all week, we decided to have everyone call it a day at 1:00pm as the temperatures climbed.

We also had tutoring today and continue to have a great group of kids (and volunteers!).  This week's theme is focused on the month of July and parties.  It seems that there are several July birthdays among the tutorees and tutorers.

Tonight we are being treated to a South American feast of empenadas and couscous.  Couscous is yum yum.
