"It is possible to give without loving, but it is impossible to love without giving."  John Wesley

Last night for reflection we were asked to think about loss and renewal.  We reflected on people and situations that represented loss and renewal to us while make a paper flower.  As we each shared we added our flower to a vase that now decorates the community room.

Hopefully today proves to be the last hot day for awhile as it is predicted by forecasters.  We finished up with the set of steps up in Lilydale, made great progress at the two homes up on Hanover, had a roving garbage crew picking up trash at a couple of places we were working and delivering it to the dump on top of a mountain, and a crew power washing at Holy Cross Church in Pineville.  I honestly think the power washers had the best job in this heat, it was hard work, but it was refreshing AND they worked across the street from Dairy Queen.  Does it get any better?

We are getting ready to gather for supper.  Tonight's menu is black bean casserole, can't wait to eat!
