Kindness in words creates confidence.
Kindness in thinking creates profundity.
Kindness in giving creates love.

Lao-Tse

Last night we were inspired by a reflection led by two of our younger volunteers. We were asked to reflect on what in our life that we could not live without. It was really a thought provoking question and gave a lot of insight as to what we really needed to be thankful for.

As always, today was a home repair free day. It actually ended up being a very busy day. It was distribution day at the food bank which is always a volunteer favorite followed by Mullens Manor. There ended up being 13 residents playing banana bingo, a record for the summer!

It was also the last day of soccer camp, which unfortunately because of rain, became an indoor soccer camp. The kids still seemed to have a lot of fun and it actually tested their ball control with the fast moving surface. At the end of camp all the kids received a camp t-shirt and a certificate.

Volunteers also attended a cookout that we were invited to by a family whose house we worked on a lot over the last two weeks. They wanted to thank all the volunteers for all the hard work which they said would have taken them until Thanksgiving to do.

We also had volunteers help transport a lumber donation to St. Vincent DePaul and go on visits to see friends.

All in all it was a fabulous day. The rain is coming down really hard right now, so our soup and grilled cheese sandwich dinner is going to really hit the spot.
