The mystery of the poor is this: That they are Jesus, and what you do for them you do for Him.

Dorothy Day

We were finally blessed with a day with rain, woohoo! I guess I should clarify, we were blessed with a day without rain for the workday, there was a huge downpour just as the last two cars arrived back to The Way and there are flash flood watches overnight and into tomorrow.  But back to today...

Today we had four home repair sites and two other sites.  We went back up the the site in Clear Fork that we have been working on since the first day. Today we finished!!!! The last of the painting was done and it looks fantastic. We also returned up to the Herndon area the the sites on top of the mountain on opposite sides of the valley. Great progress was made at the site putting on two porch roofs and the rubber roofing site was finally able to make some progress after last week having to cut a day short and missing a day due to rain, and missing yesterday.  The final home repair site was for a women in Mullens. She asked us to replace a few of her porch boards and railings damaged after having quite a bit of snow sitting on it over the winter. After the PVs are done she will feel more secure going out on the porch, I'm sure.

Dinner tonight was a delicious mix of grilled items (sausage, chicken and veggies), pesto pasta, salad and soda bread. I was all delicious and satisfying.

Last night when I asked for volunteers to lead reflection tonight, three of our younger PVs stepped up to the plate and signed up. They did a wonderful job leading reflection about what what it means to be a PV and use the analogy of us all being rock and how when we are all together we create a mountain. I think it is safe to say that the PVs in the future are in good hands.
