The temperatures continue to swelter, but the camp continues to be a success. Today several more kids joined in the camp and fun was had by all. During the camp day we get a chance to stick our heads into the different rooms and check on the kids. Today we saw little kids dancing, older kids writing poetry, kids drawing, kids creating their own handprint, kids recreating Picasso with their own imagination and vision, just to name a few. It is really inspiring to watch the kids learn and grow each day and each year the camp has continued. I've included a few pictures from the day for your enjoyment.
As per tradition, Wednesday evenings for the PVs are free nights. So many of our volunteers are not from New York City area we feel it is always important to get a chance to explore the city a bit. Tonight volunteers went into Manhattan and went to Washington Square Park, rode the Staten Island Ferry, and walked and explored the many neighborhoods. A good time was had by all.
Tomorrow, we take the younger kids on their field trip to the Museum of the City of New York.
